    .sub file
    « on: March 12, 2009, 06:26:38 PM »
hey I have a movie which is a .mkv file "cause it's high definition" and I'm converting it to an mpeg4 for my ipod the .mkv came with a .sub file so I'm assuming it's the subtitles. Using visual hub I'm converting them but I selected (stitch files together), Know because I stitched them together  dose that mean when its done being converted to mpeg4 the subtitles will be included with the film or not? just thought id give it a try even though by stitching the videos together it will take much longer to finish converting! i really hope it's worth it!

well get mkvmerge. I believe the file is here: http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/

Anyway, use mkvmerge to add your subtitles to your video and then convert to mp4 which then will have subtitles because now the subtitles are hardcoded to the video which means it is nonremovable.
