     i have sound just no icon to control it. Clicked  check box for icon and got error message
    (Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the volume control program has not been installed to install it, use add/remove program in control panel) sndVol32.exe??? also under start menu in entertainment it is not there???? pls help

      forgot to add somethings i cant find anything in add or remove programs to do with sound.... have just bought new speakers and want to configure them proply coz not getting the full sound i was hoping for????when i go to sound and audio and then audio click volume then error message (windows cannot execute sndVol32.exe use add or remove programs to install it) no such thing exists :'(

      Go Start>Run ("Start Search" in Vista), type in:
      sfc /scannow
      Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).
      Have Windows CD/DVD handy.
      If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it may ask you for the CD/DVD.
      If sfc won't find any errors in Windows XP, it'll simply quit, without any message.
