    Stupidly hard to fix
    « on: March 19, 2009, 10:55:20 AM »
Hi am T and studying Software Engineer in Birmingham
I have some experience at fixing computers but not this one because it is the most unfixable computer
    i have ever encounter!
I hope you guys knows how to solve this
    ---Laptop-------------------------
    OS = Vista Home
    Model - Invent
    CPU - 1.7GB
    GPU - AMD 64 - Athlon x 2 N
    -------------------------------------

Thats will probably be all the information you need!

Problem: Vista Could not start up with the following Error

    2/793 (_ 00000000000000000.cmf.ms)

Cause: This is cause by an service pack update

My solution 1: Trying to use Vista build in automatic system recovery.
Results = 16 hours it stuck on finalising restore

My solution 2: Try to repair it using vista build in repair system but vista coulnt not reconise any problem
It said everything is ok and it cannot find any problems

My solution 3: booting on safe mode and other different mode
Results were the same, an error came up

My solution 4: Re formatt the dam thing
Got the boot disc for ubuntu and XP and try them both which mean that i try to boot it from the disc
i would use Vista disc but i dont have one but i am downloading it now!
The computer just ignor the disc even i went on boot order in BIOS oh i forgot that i try using vista recovery
disc but the computer just ignor it

My solution 5: Re formatt the dam thing but different method
Using both ubuntu and XP disc through an external CD drive and booting from USB port but the computer
would reconise it (not the CDs but the port)

I am trying to boot it from an external hard drive but i can install OS on my USB pen (kingston 8 GB) but the computer do reconise theres is a USB connected

i been on this problem for 5 hours now and please help me!!

Thank you if you have any sugestion

If the laptops BIOS does not support booting from a USB external device this will not work...
Why not backup your data and do a Repair Install of Vista instead ? ?

If you have XP installed try installing the drivers for the CD/DVD drive and then check if its working.

Optical drives do not need drivers in XP...
Borrow or buy a new DVD drive.
Or as i said check your MBoard manual to see if it supports booting to an external USB device...
