what is a "<BATCH FILE>"? Is it like a batch file? If so, why write it like that?

      To the resourse persons.
SIR/MADAM, I need a "batch file", opening which I can enjoy my favorite  videos that are prelisted in the "batch file",I would change the list according to my mood. I also request you that the corresponding video player would close automatically after playing my selected videos.
With hope to learn little by little from the generous, I remaim 'spdCHF'.
