missing ethernet communication port on dell 4550 dimension

does anyone know which driver is needed for the dell dimension 4550 ethernet communication port.i have had to do a full system restore due to a virus but since i reinstalled windows xp and resource cd that came with computer i am missing eternet port and driver for mmc.please help me someone dell want a fee of £60 + vat to talk me through resolution.

Do you have a service tag on the PC? You should have since it is a Dell. You can go to the dell website and enter that service tag and it should give you all teh drivers that you need.

thanks for replying so fast.i have gone to dell website with my service tag and downloaded all the drivers needed but when i try to update my ethernet port about 20 differant options come up and i just dont know which is correct 1.any other suggestions please.
