Does anyone know of web desgin software that a lay person can use. One that does take much computer knowledge. All the ones I looked at requires quite alot of computer skills. Let alone understand what they are saying.  Ojas

There's no getting round the fact that, without some relevant knowledge, a lay person designing web sites will come unstuck, sooner or later.  There are plenty of tutorials out there though.  Try Googling for "HTML tutorials", "CSS tutorials", "javascript tutorials", etc.

personal best.  If there is code that you like or you want to see how to code something, try looking at the page right click go to view and put the code into dreamweaver then modify it.  Remeber to give credit it if you dont change it.

A free alternative to Dreamweaver would be NVU. It has both a HTML and WYSIWYG editor. Did I mention it was free?

NVU

Linspire abandoned the Nvu project when it was sold to Xandros in 2008.  Fortunately, Fabien Cazenave picked up the project and started updating Nvu under the name Kompozer.  Both Nvu and Kompozer versions can be found on our Download page.

No wonder it's more difficult to use.

But:

NVU 1.0, released in June 2005, is the last official release that you will find at most download sites, however, it isn't the newest or best version of the Nvu software. An unofficial bugfix/update called "KompoZer" is  available here. KompoZer is not a cure-all for all the bugs in NVU 1.0, but it does fix some of the major annoyances. If you use NVU 1.0 and it works for you, stick with it. But if you run into problems, give KompoZer a try and see if it helps.

Is Frontpage still any good these days? Last I checked, it looked like Frontpage is still good for a WYSIWYG editor (but you can write your own code if you rather do that instead of going to WYSIWYG mode)
