unwanted automatic internet logon

Using AOL 9.0; dial-up. Also, Norton Internet Security and Uniblue RegistryBooster

Problem: After PC powered up and left idle, something causes an automatic logon to the ISP, usually after a delay of 5-10 minutes.  I have never used or enabled auto logon nor, as far as I know, is auto logon turned on in any of the software products that I use.

I've no idea what is triggering the auto logon.  Any hints as where to look will be appreciated.
