so I probably should just leave AVG alone? Since it's doing okay and sophos is about on par?

Honestly any antivirus is only as good as the person using it. It wouldn't hurt to try it out since it's free. You can always go back to AVG if you don't like it.

      I don't see any more or less infections from Sophos then I do any other. It did well in the AV-Tests. http://www.virusbtn.com/news/2008/09_02

      I think its just a language add-on.
