Inbound rules. Windows firewall advanced security
    « on: May 12, 2009, 02:35:06 PM »
    Hello,

I was looking through my inbound rules and noticed there was a list of 6 taskpanl and they are all allowed. I am wondering whether or not this is normal/safe?

    I would appreciate your help.

taskpanl is associated with Earthlink TotalAccess 2003 Internet access software. Are you using Earthlink? BTW, Windows Firewall only protected against incoming. Outgoing traffic can be just as dangerous.

No i am not using Earthlink. I don't even recall installing the program.

      Do you have any suggestions?

If you are not using it and you didn't install it just go to Control panel, Add/Remove programs and uninstall it.
