Windows and the software are not compatable

We have a software that it is not compatible with the current version of our windows!
Is there any middleware or way to install that software?

Did you try to install/run it in compatibility mode?

If you can get your hands on a CD of the version of Windows needed to run the software, download, install, and run Microsoft Virtual PC 2007.

We are using Windows XP but the dictionary software is compatible with older versions.
Is there any way to install it on XP?
