First of all, you're running two AV programs, AVG 7.5, and Norton, which is NO-NO.
AVG 7.5 is not functional anymore, so you have to uninstall it anyway.
Now, the question is, if your Norton is paid for, and up to date?

We'll go from there.

Did you install HJT, or it is the slim version?

Anyways, from that, IMO, you don't need a startup manager.

??? It said download .exe so I did. Nothing about a slim version? I have the link if i ever need it again.

Hmmmm Norton is not up to date or paid for because if I remember correctly I took it out and replaced it with AVG as per CH. Not sure why I have two AVG's ?

Lets get rid of one. Proceed.

He didn't say you have 2 avgs, he said you have to AV programs. (AV is short for Anti-Virus) and neither of your anti-virus programs are up to date, which is a serious issue.

Me bad. Thanks for clearing that up.

AVG I use once in a blue and update it right before I use it. I don't like it up on startup it slows things down. I do use Spy-bot, ad-ware and one other, very regular and update constantly.

Like other members have basically branded into their minds, 2 anti-virus programs aren't always better than none.

Well the OP needs to get rid of Norton first...

He used Norton, then went with AVG thinking that he got rid of Norton (with Norton, "getting rid of it" is never that simple).

He has been not having any antivirus protection for some time.
He must start at malware section.

Obviously, he has to remove both, AVG, and Norton, and install some working AV program, but this is all part of evilfantasy's dealing with the problem.
