dear bc_programmer,

thank you for your response.

the cntrl+shft+end part worked beautifully.
the cntrl+C part did not respond.

Well, Control+C copies the text to the "clipboard" an area of memory that holds data for you. Once you have something on the clpboard, you need to "paste" it. In this case- you'll want to "paste" it into your wordperfect document. Control+V while your in your wordperfect document should plop the text into it, after you perform the previous steps on the site in question.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

      i feel like such a loon !
the cntrl+c did not respond because my clipbook is not to be found.  i did a search and could not locate it.

       ???

The windows Clipboard is part of windows...

I'm unsure as to what exactly your doing here that makes you believe the clipboard is on your disk- it isn't- there is nothing to search for.

        bc_programmer,
when you explained the action of cntrl+c in conjunction with my problem i could not understand why the text did not go to my clipbook (clipBOOK in the corel program).
i thought that there had to be a problem with my clipbook...

        i right clicked on start>explore>documents and settings>application data>corel.
in the past the clipbook was IN the corel file, but presently it is NOT in that file.

i am not a prodigy.  my simple mind told me to go and look for what was missing.
and, for me, the route to take was to "search" for it.
it's not where it's supposed to be - i don't know what occurred to make it exit where it's always been - it could be anywhere - so, i went foraging for it.
