windows 8 is windows 7's new mate,

should we hate windows 8> We will know once October 22nd comes around ... the official windows 7's launch date.

Windows 8 really is the operating system running the flux capacitor? Can somebody demonstrate how that works?

Hopefully M$ would have already fixed by then all windows little small quirks!

So Kirbopher, what does that M$ windows 8 look like> Is it really different than windows 7 or vista in terms of the GUI?

October 22nd of this year is the official public release date. M$ has confirmed this. And it is windows 7 because it is the 7th windows they will have created. see?

Windows 3.1, windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2K, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7!

I figured it had something to do with the order in which Windows Versions have been released, but you left out Win95 and Win 98 SE  That is, unless All Windows 9x are counted as one OS... :)

And if we include Windows 1.0 then it would make Windows 7 Actually Win8.. ;D

in any case, windows vista is version 6.0, and then windows 7 is versoin 6.1 (go to start menu, and search for winver or use the run box and run winver to see it)

Windows NT came  before Win95?    I thought Windows NT was the first OS using the NT kernal, which came after ME.....

gosh, it's all so confusing  :(

edit: has the the title of this thread been changed?  Why is it "Windows 7 Beta" now?

NT was what unseated Novell Netware.

Quote
NT was the first fully 32-bit version of Windows, whereas its consumer-oriented counterparts, Windows 3.1x and Windows 9x, were 16-bit/32-bit hybrids.
