    RAID help
    « on: June 24, 2009, 07:54:53 AM »
I have configured a RAID 0 on my computer. Everything is running great. My question is, should you run a defrag program on a striped volume. From my understanding, information is written to each hard drive 64KB at a time.

Does windows XP recognize this as fragmented data?
Will running a defrag program be beneficial?

I did analyse the drive and XP concluded that I should run a defrag but I am hesitant.

Yes, you should defragment your RAID array the same as any hard drive.
