How do you back up your computer? And what do you mean you create a new account? Do you mean that if my daughter were to use my computer, we would create a new account - is that what you mean? What do you mean by "reset computer download aim"? Thank you for your help everyone - oh and by the way yes, I turned off my firewalls and it's still no good - but thanks!

2.if your the main user on the computer (administrator) after you back up your computer create a new account or since you have backed up your system try aim to see if it works... i basically did all that because i wanted to start a fresh account with a new aim download. So i created the new account also as an administrator. if you have more then one user on that computer i wouldnt worry about it unless aim didnt work under there name as well if aim doesnt work under that persons account then they need to create a new account. i kept my music and pictures which were importent to me and signed off went to the new account.. delete the one i had then i rested my computer... then i download aim. worked fine for me hoped this helped..
