    where do I start?
    « on: June 29, 2009, 05:16:12 PM »
    Hi guys,

This isn't a problem but I am looking for some advice. I have been "messing" around with computers for a while now and they absolutely fascinate me. I have just completed a build your own computer course and loved it. I am particularly interested in getting into the technical side - PC maintenance, trouble shooting how everything works... but I haven't a clue where to start or what courses to apply for. I know I have to start from complete scratch but who cares! When I phone round colleges and computer centres for help on this particular subject I'm usually fobbed off with application forms on ECDL courses and MCAS courses that I'm not looking for.

If anyone out there has any suggestions at all and can name a place to make a start I would really appreciate it - always find this site very helpful.

    Thanks

    Hi Lorraine,

Check out this link ... http://www.computer-schools.us/Computer-Technician-Schools.htm

I'm assuming you want to become a computer repairman or a Computer technician of sorts (whether you want to get a job in that field is totally up to you though  ;D)

      Hi Lorraine,

I highly recommend Professor Messers' free A+ training video series.....It's a great aid for anyone wishing to learn about PC repair and what is needed to get certified.....Enjoy.

Never argue with a stupid person, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
