device in the system modular bay
« on: July 23, 2009, 11:59:31 PM »
hi,
I have a dell XPS m 1530 which is 4-5 months old.yesterday i started my laptop and after the dell logo a white screen appears saying the device in the system modular bay cannot be identified.please read the following then they have advised to press the device firmly in the modular bay.after ignoring the error(by pressing ESC) i found out that my DVD  r/w slot load drive isn't working.i think resetting the drive in the modular bay will work but i don't know how to do that i mean how to open a slot load drive from the modular bay and resetting it.can anyone help?

There should be a small button near it that releases it from the bay...it is spring loaded.
Re-seat it and the error message should go away...that is unless the drive has failed.
