Data Execution Prevention message appears after closing IE
    « on: July 14, 2009, 10:53:16 AM »
I ran ie withseveral tabs open at the same time. Whenever I close a tab where the page was still loading or close All Tabs at once, several seconds afterwards the following message appears:

DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION- MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLOR...

"To Help Protect Your Computer Windows Has closed This Program

    Name: Internet Explorer

    Publisher:....

There is a button "Close Message"

After closing the message, another error message comes up:
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience, etc.

I tried to checking and unchecking the Internet explorer  in Data Execution Prevention Control Panel But these messages still appear. What can be done?

Which version of IE are you using? I will take a guess and say 6 because it says Microsoft Internet Explorer in the error message. IE was renamed to Windows Internet Explorer in version 7. Please reply

No, I am using the latest version, I believe 8, if not then 7 but definitely not 6. because I remember recently downloading the most recent version...
I simply abbreviated in as "IE"
