« on: May 21, 2005, 02:42:56 PM »
:-[ Hey. okay this is my problem. I have a windows 98 SE computer and now, when it boots, its boots up fine but just befor i can type in my password, i also get it after i log in and when i open programs, like my AOL, MSN Messenger and Internet Explorer. It says with a blue screen...

                                            WINDOWS

A fatal exeption OE has occurred at 0028:C008E777 in VXD MPFBOCKS(01)  +  00009E7B. The current application will be terminated.

* Press any key to terminate
*press CTRL+ ALT+ Delete to restart your computer.

so it wont let me open any of them.

This all started to happen when i downloaded the Service pack 2 for windows 98SE. i have tryed to remove it but it will not uninstall. i also did the system restore using the safe mode etc and it still has not helped me!

i dont have any of the CD's for the computer so i am not sure what to do!!! :'(

HELP!!!!

IT WOULD BE GREATFULY APRECIATED!

Thanks

Jason ;)

Jason:

Please try to reproduce the error again and write down every word.  I'm thinking MPFBOCKS is not the correct spelling.  Let us know and we'll try to look it up.

Doc

This may work:

1. Open Regedit (Start->Run)
2. Search for mpfbocks.vxd
3. Remove it

1. Open My Computer
2. Go to Windows\System
3. Search for mpfbocks.vxd
4. Remove it

When did the error first occur, by the way?

I meant:

When has the error first occured. What steps did you take to create the problem? From my experience, VXD errors occur when you have installed certain drivers and they became corrupted or otherwise unusuable.
