    Internet Explorer

I have Firefox on my computer but it came with Internet Explorer. It doesn't have an uninstall file and if I try to stop it from running all icons disappear. Is there a way to get rid of Internet Explorer without ruining the computer? Thanks.

Yes but it isn't easy and never advised. You still need IE to get Windows Updates so keeping it is highly recommended. Even though you don't use it there are other parts of your computer that rely on it being there to function properly.

...which is something Microsoft has been fighting the EU Competition Commission about for quite some time.  In a recent ruling, MS is obliged to deliver Windows 7 without IE installed, but since it is open to OEM's to install IE, I suspect we'll still see the vast majority of PCs shipped with IE.
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.
