PC world or Maximum PC
« on: July 24, 2009, 05:16:48 PM »
I am planning to subscribe to a compute magazine and I have a hard time choosing between PC World or Maximum PC. I am not using this for any Business-related things and I am a very advanced PC user.
PC WORLD OR MAXIMUM PC?

If you have to decide on one or the other I would suggest visiting the news stand and just buy the one with the better articles that month.

They are both fairly decent publications, and that way your options are still open.

Pc world stopped publishing magazines and is online only now.  I would go with maximum pc or cpu magazine.

Dont know.  My friend used to subscribe to it, then he got a "special issue" all wrapped up in plastic and it said something about them being online only

Sorry to bring up a slightly old topic, but PCWorld is still in print and PC Magazine is online only.

Yeah - I'm guessing he knows that by now ;)

And I can't begin to tell you how much that annoys me, by the way. I was a charter subscriber of PC Mag and have enjoyed it all these years. Now that it's digital only, I will not be renewing. I want to read a magazine when and where I want - don't want to be tied to a computer to do it.

I just canceled my PC World subscription because it seems to be more written for casual users than professionals or enthusiasts.
PC Magazine is a better fit for me, but sadly they are digital only now.
