Networking problems with Xbox Live - NAT settings
« on: September 09, 2011, 02:37:28 AM »
Ok, So I have a personal network at home, and I have just recently started using Xbox Live on the network. I ran across a problem though which inhibits me from joining parties (most of the time)... My NAT settings are Moderate.

My source for internet access is a Clear 4G Mobile Hotspot, and I am using a Buffalo WALE-AG300N to convert from WIFI to Ethernet. I asked a guy on the buffalo forums, and he said that the Buffalo device doesn't have any kind of NAT settings, and that the Clear would have the router setting for things like that.

The only problem I'm having now, is understanding what I need to do... (I'm not too network savvy by the way). I have all the ports forwarded as described on the Xbox Live website (53, 80, 88 & 3074) for the IP addresses of both the buffalo and Xbox, however they still don't work. I have only been able to get my Xbox to connect using DHCP assigned IP settings, but that won't work for the forwarding...

Anyway, I would love it if someone could help me out with this. :D

Thanks!

Sincerely,
