Yeah, it's great when the culture demands you be covered from head to toe on the pain of punishment by however the men see fit.
I used to see a lot of families where I used to live, where the women are covered to some degree with a scarf or pants - you can tell they're observing custom and religion, and there's big ol' manly dad head of the family, in a leather jacket, jeans, and athletic shoes! Always made me want to ask, if it's good enough for them, why isn't it good enough for you? It is probably confined to certain sects of Islam and the culture, just as there are some Christian sects here where the woman only wear dresses, and they're not allowed to cut their hair...
So, yeah, it's humor, but it's humor in a culture where the extremes are that women are put to death for divorce, or even from the perception of being unattended with another man...but ol' boys get to run around (if they're not following the dictates of the religion and culture which govern their own conduct) and pretty much do what they want. They rape someone, and the woman's put to death for adultery.
I know, I know -- humor, Brian -- can someone look at that picture ten years from now, and say, "That was me, third from the right."
