WLan Cardbus Adapter

Hi, I just bought a WLan Cardbus Adapter for this laptop (Compaq V2655AU running Windows XP) And Windows XP isn't detecting that it is plugged in.  The Cardbus drivers are apparently working and everything. Any suggests is welcome. Thanks.
