Dell Inspiron laptop Windows xp  Intel Proset wireless device indicator indicates excellent connection with my linksys router and dsl modem.  This thing has been working fine till a couple days ago and suddenly, both Internet Explorer and Firefox will not recognize the connection.  They work fine when hardwired via the ethernet cable or dial up connection.

Control Panel - Network Settings - Local Area Connection - what does it show? (sorry, I'm on a Vista system at the moment but I think that's the correct location in XP)

It says connect using broadcom 570x integrated co.

but right below "local area connection" is "wireless network connection" where it says "connect using intel pro wirless 2200 bg" and it indicates an excellent connection.
