Open attachments from email with .eml extension

Most of the time I have no trouble opening attachments in email, whether Power Point, video, jpg, etc. But lately some of the emails have had the extension .eml. When I try to open it, I have to choose the option, and nothing works -- not office apps, not wmv, nothing that I've tried. Please help.
I'm using Mozilla Firefox, Windows Vista.

You may not have the correct programme installed. .eml means you have not got the correct programme.
