driver or Hardware problem with network adapter

Hi everyone

I have installed Windows ultimate on my new motherboard, and automatically all except 2 components where not working when I checked the Device manager. Then I arranged one by installing the right driver, but still the network adapter which is

Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)
 is experiencing driver or hardware software... I have then installed it manually by downloading the driver from another computer...and I have made  it enable from the BIOS also but still it gives me the same error and no connection...CAN you help me please?

Does Device Manager give any error details about the network adapter?

Right click on the network card in Dev. Manager and select properties....Under the "Device Status", what does it say?

It says This Device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click Check for solutions to see data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available

Have you tried uninstalling the network adapter driver and letting windows reinstall it for you? 

Go back to device manager, right click on the network adapter, click "uninstall", and restart the computer....    Then when the computer boots back up, check device manager to see if the error is corrected...   Or try connecting to some websites

install the chipset drivers for your new motherboard...

how can you tell the motherboard needs chipset drivers?  ...not saying you're wrong...just curious

the Realtek RTL8168/8111 is the same as my motherboard's built-in Networking and the driver for that was on the motherboard CD.

In either case... if chipset drivers aren't installed for it there will be other issues...

Do all motherboards come with CDs........I replaced a motherboard in an eMachines computer that was given to me, but a cd never came with the board...

The chipset drivers seem to come with the OEM Windows Installation disks that came with the computer, because when I installed the OS, there weren't any problems..

if you replace the board with another identical board and it's from the manufacturer, there won't be a CD.

however if you buy a new, completely different motherboard at retail from say newegg or whatnot the box itself will have the motherboard manual and driver CD. the driver CD has drivers for the integrated components.. USB controllers, SATA controllers, Audio, Video, and what-not.

The board I ordered wasn't from the manufacturer, I don't remember what company I ordered from... The board was the same make/model as the original, but the bios version is different.   Whatever the case, I didn't get a cd

but it was an OEM model... built for the emachines, right?

It may be exclusive to eMachines..

It's an AM37 Salsa motherboard with an HP bios




edit: the maker of the board is FIC...........Salsa is the identification used with HP

OEM. any "standard" motherboard will have a Phoenix technologies or Award BIOS... or perhaps some other BIOS company... but not a manufacturers.

As an example, if the boot up splash screen says anything about the manufacturer (such as Dell, Emachines, etc) then it's an OEM BIOS. mine for example basically touts the fact that the motherboard has a layer of copper.
