Email question
« on: August 20, 2009, 03:30:48 PM »
For some reason for the past few months, a friend of mine isn't receiving any emails that I send her. We have no idea what is going on because it does show up in my sent box as being sent to her. Any ideas on what to do?
Thanks,
Amy

I'm not sure what it would be, the browser I guess is what you call it since I open my browser and go to like www.myspace.com
is the account I've been using to contact her through.

Where is your friend located, I mean country, there's no need for personal info.

What subject lines are you using, are your e-mails getting into the junk mail folder somehow?

In the US same as me. Same subjects as I always use when I email her, for example Hi and then her name and how are you doing? things like that.
Her twin sister seems to be getting the emails.

Get your friend to check her settings, it doesn't sound like it's on your end.  Unless your spelling the address wrong.

I agree with Quantos. Have her sister take a screen shot of her setting and compare both of them.

It couldn't be that I'm spelling the address wrong because there is nothing for me to even type out. I just click on her name in my friends list.
I didn't even think there would be a settings if it's like Hotmail. Don't we just login to our account and check our emails, send emails, etc..

Nope, there is a settings panel.

do you have an actual email address for her that you can use, instead of going through myspace.com?

Nope, there is a settings panel.
Where is this setting panel for hotmail? We all use hotmail and didn't know there was any kind of a setting panel for hotmail? I thought it was the same as like webmail, where we open our browser and type in the url and then type in our username, and password or if it asks for email address for the box and then password, then we put the email address and then the password we set for our account.

Yes, it is the same as webmail - because it is webmail. All email accounts have a settings area.

What settings panel are you talking about though? Like where is it located? How do we get to it? I just want to make sure we are even talking about the same thing.
On our ends, I didn't think we had to do any settings except for login with our username and password, which it seems our login name is our email address and then the password.
See I know there is a control panel on our computers, but that has nothing to do with our email or going to websites on the internet.

Top right, under your name - "Options", then "More options".

This is where my problem is. I don't have anything that says Options under my name in the top right. The only thing that is there is Sign Out. Nothing else but Sign Out.

Under that, beside the "Messenger" and the help icon. Use the browser's find function if you must.

For some reason I can't get this to work.  I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I must be blind. I don't even know what messenger thing you are talking about either. Does it actually say messenger? I don't even have a find function in hotmail.
The only thing I have a is google search bar thing, but that just takes me out of my hotmail account and to google.
I don't even have a help icon either.
