Both my old keyboard/mouse and my new keyboard/mouse use USB ports, not the little round things.

We need to get you a working mouse and keyboard before we worry about the USB drivers. We can help you with them on here.

That's of no use at all. She has a cabled mouse/keyboard.

On the back of your computer do you have a two small round connectors?  One would be green and the other purple.

Okay, what happens if you unplug the mouse and keyboard and try to start the computer?

I have thoroughly checked the computer and I do not have two round colored things.  There are only two input places that I have never used, and don't currently have anything to plug into them.  They are on the back of my computer.  They kind of look like little rectangles (a bit thicker than the USB ports) and on one of the ends, there is a triangle.  Could this be for a different type of mouse and keyboard?

No.  Try turning the computer on without the mouse and keyboard connected.  Tell us what happens.

I have tried unplugging the mouse and the keyboard from the the computer, restarting it, and then plugging things back in, and it still does not work.  I have also tried unplugging the mouse and keyboard from the computer, turning it off, unplugging it for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and booting it up and then plugging the mouse/keyboard back in and it doesn't work.

What I want you to try is starting the computer without the keyboard and mouse connected at all.
