I have learned in life, Nobody can ever make you do something that you don't want to, so unless you have an attraction for begging , just Don't.

I'm using Internet on my Cell and I'm connecting this internet to my computer with the USB. The downloads were fine before the reformat, but after the reformat everything is slow!

My first guess is that your ISP is limiting download speeds for big files to conserve bandwidth.  BTW, going insane is a shorter drive for some people than others.

It's one thing to limit download speeds, but certainly not to the speeds the original poster is describing.

I'm thinking that voice traffic is given priority over data.  It's all digital and packetized but if voice packets don't arrive together it's an obviously poor connection but if data packets arrive at different intervals it all gets reassembled in order and no one ever knows the difference.  Unless it's a big file and takes forever.

this is definitely news to me.

Besides, the TC Protocol dictates that the sending machine wait for the receipt to acknowledge each packet before the next one is sent- so they simply cannot become out of sync.

It's a wireless connection and yes, I have one of those 3G USB modems!

Those 3G modems are not ideal for downloading video. You should use a High speed connection with T1 or faster speeds. I have cable internet which has T1 speeds.
You have dial up speeds. Dial up or some slow 3G networks like T-Mobile (US) for people who don't do much online.
What is your Internet Provider. Also tell your country you have the service from.
Note: I don't have a T-mobile phone. I just know it from a magazine issued one and a half years ago.

Well that makes my think they are looking at whatever you are downloading rather that just viewing as a web page. They may suspect you are downloading copyrighted material and they are scanning it for markers that ID it is copyright material. This is only a guess!

BTW,  Did you once work for the CIA? Are you a Russian national?

Maybe there's some settings you forgot to apply which somehow affect the internet speed? (Like in the firewall for example).

If you're connected directly to the 3G USB modem, you can probably download a driver/firmware update from the ISP website (on another computer) to a CD-ROM/Flash Drive, plug it in to your computer, copy the file to your hard drive and install it.

I called them up, they say that downloading is meant to be slow in the package that I'm using, and they say that downloading speed varies , I observed it actually does.  It must have been awfully slow that day though......He says people don't download so much on the cell. I guess I'll put up with this for just this month and next month I can switch back to my old ISP. I will use this connection only while I'm traveling for my lap top .  Isn't that a good Idea?

I'd be unhappy with those speeds fro free ...much less paying for it.
