    Windows Media Player error msg

    hi!

    Here's my prob:

    Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

    well,its my pc @ ve office.everyfg was working properly.i was absent 4 2 days n wen i came bak,i got zis prov but no 1 @ ve office knws wat happened!!


    got windows xp pro sp3

    Motherboard
    Motherboard Vendor-Asustek Computer Inc.
    Board Model-ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5GC-MX/GBL
    BIOS Version-AMI BIOS 08.00.11

    Sound
    ACD 97/HDA Codec name-Realtek ALC662-GR

    there's nothing listed wiv an exclamation point in device manager

    In SOUNDS & AUDIO DEVICES-AUDIO tab there's nofg listed in the pull-down box for DEFAULT DEVICE under the SOUND PLAYBACK heading

    In DEVICE MANAGER there's wat is listed under Sound, Video & Game Controllers when i hit the '+' symbol:

    Sound, Video, and Game Controllers
    - Audio Codecs
    - Legacy Audio Drivers
    - Legacy Video Capture Devices
    - Media Control Devices
    - Realtek High Definition Audio
    - Video Codecs

    Wats weird,its zat it worked jst b4 i sent zis msg n nw its nt working again!

      I'm using K-Lite Codek pack several years. And it's very well.
      This package include all codeks and good player.

          try reinstalling your sound card driver if it did not fixed then try installing codec. Im using media player codec pack. its what I am using, pretty effective.
