Is the Geforce 9500GT a good card?
« on: September 12, 2009, 08:47:00 AM »
Onboard graphics don't fit me anymore, unlike one year ago. The nVidia Geforce 9500GT is $50-80. I sure am not a gamer, I just need two outputs for two monitors.
Is this a good video card for me? If not, suggest any nVidia or ATI card under $80 which supports dual monitors.
I can install it in my Dell PC or I can build a new PC for advanced tasks.

Did you pay ANY attention to the Read this first thread? It even says "Do not post questions here"

Helpmeh, perhaps you should take a look at the forum rules, as well. Particularly the following rule.

There's no need to be rude to someone for not understanding the purpose of a specific board. History shows that it is somewhat confusing, anyways.

I'll presume you have a PCI Express x16 slot on your motherboard.  You didn't say whether you have any special requirements such as extreme gaming, so I'll assume you're mainly interested in dual monitors for general use.  If that's the case, a Geforce 9500GT should be just fine for you.  Some good rebate deals are available on newegg.com.  Most cards will have 1 VGA port and 1 DVI port.

9500GT is a good card, I have one and I'm not an extreme gamer either. Low wattage requrement, my 300Watt Hipro power supply likes it just fine.

I know though, if you get the Gigabyte version of the card (which is what I have), they have 2 DVI ports coming with the card itself but you may get some other good deals, like a free game or some other nice gadget packed along with the card by the manufacturer so you might want to look out for those if there's any  :)
