Fastest & Most Effective way of destroying a Computer. I want to see what people can come up with. Mainly out of boredom...

My turn!

1. Leave case/cover on
2. Switch on PC
3. Sever a mains adapter cable (fused at 13Amp or higher, like a nail for example)
4. Plug in severed cable
5. Apply bare wires to PC case

a sledge hammer can definitely put that machine out of commission. A pickaxe would be even better.

But, honestly, why destroy the whole computer? If you don't want it, give it away. If you're concerned about data on the hard drive, just destroy the hard drive. A local computer users group here has recycling drives. They destroy unwanted, i.e. too small capacity to salvage, hard drives with a smallish pickaxe. If the drives are good to keep and put in a refurbished machine, they do a thorough data wipe before putting them in any working computer.

Yes but that way, you can't tell work that your company computer just seems to have stopped working and then congratulate you for making a convenient back up of all your work just beforehand.

well, that'll destroy the software side... but the hardware will still be in good shape.

I always keep my case off and i try to keep a fan by it helps thing run faster and i cleaned my very dusty computer before with a vacume

Speaking of which, would it need to destroy the computer physically, or would it count if a reformat/reinstall would solve the problem? I'm leaning towards the former.

I want to say "Aluminum Hydroxide" but there is no hydrogen. Additionally the combining capacity (don't think my memory serves me well here) for the metals doesn't seem to jive with the gases (6 oxygen, 4 iron, 4 aluminum).
