what to type for cd rom to be recognized in autoexe. bat &config.sys 98se mitsumi fx22 primary slave. Read  the formula on your web site still unsure what to type!   quote  three components  Device=C:windows/HIMEM.SYS      Dos=HIGH,UMB, dEVICE=C:Windows\emm386.exe NOEMS

Can you state you specific problem?
From your post it seems that you somehow lost your CD Rom drive. Is that so?
Normally Windows 98 requires both floppy and a CD to install. Is that how you installed it?

You may also want to post a copy of your autoexec.bat and config.sys files...
Do you have a driver floppy for the CD drive ? ?
What OS is installed on this machine ? ?
