Firefox broken
« on: October 04, 2009, 09:25:20 AM »
Just grabbed the latest Firefox update...3.0.14 i believe...
The Home and End keys now do not work within web pages and page up/down works intermittently...

Just wondering if someone else here can volunteer to update and see if the same condition persists.

I checked Mozilla for a bug report on this but haven't seen one as of yet.

Thanx in advance...
patio.

Thanx much...
It must be an extension then...

I'll start pruning them one at a time.

FF is at 3.5.3
Why are you using old version?

You know, that's very interesting. When I responded above I was on my laptop and Firefox was ver 3.0.13. When I upgraded it went to 3.0.14. I am currently on a desktop and my installed Firefox was 3.5.2 and it just upgraded to 3.5.3. Strange. I don't really use Firefox unless necessary (I'm an IE bigot but keep multiple browsers installed on all systems), so I'm really not sure when I last updated the laptop version.

Ver. 3.5.x is independent of 3.0.x
Each of them has own line of upgrades.
Eventually, 3.0.x won't be supported anymore.

But shouldn't I have been notified of the 3.5x upgrade availability when I checked for updates? I'm sure that's what happened on the other systems - I certainly didn't download a standalone version of 3.5

Same instance here...i was on the Win7 machine which still had 3.0.14...
Can 3.5 just be an over the top upgrade Broni ? ?

No. Not through automatic message.
I think, what happened, originally, 3.5 was supposed to be 3.1 and I was even using 3.1 beta for a while. Then, they decided, it's a major change, so they renamed 3.1 as 3.5, but at the same time it became independent download, not an upgrade.

I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure, you can install 3.5 over 3.0

When I was using Firefox 3.0, Firefox asked if I wanted to update to 3.5.
On some of my other computers, Firefox never asked so I manually installed 3.5 over 3.0.
In both cases, Firefox worked fine.

I'm certain you can install 3.5 over 3.0. As I said, the desktop I'm currently on has 3.5 and I certainly never uninstalled a previous version.
