Getting products for review?
« on: October 07, 2009, 04:24:51 PM »
Does anyone know of some sites where they would be willing to to let me review their paid products for free? Engaget.com gets phones shipped to them for free to test and they just have to pay for shipping to ship them back. Some site (forgot the name) got Windows 7 to review before it was available to manufacturers (of course I'm not expecting that because my site isn't huge) but if I could get some ideas that would be great. I already have 2 companies which let me review their products (1 hardware and 1 software).

:) Any help would be great.
I help run my home improvement and home automation forum.

That's the key. Big companies will give a free whatever if they know that a lot of people are going to see the review. Start emailing companies. Once a few get on board others will be more likely to follow. Post your reviews on Digg and Stumble them to get your user base built up. There is a bunch of bigtime competition already doing what you want to. Stick with it and it's always possible.
