    does anyone know of any decent video decoders? preferably freeware? my system crashed and after reformatting and reinstalling everything there was no decoder for windows media center..

    is klite codec pack the software you're looking for?

    Something to allow you to watch video on your computer (divx, mp4, etc)?

      yes, I agree. K-lite codec allows you to watch all video format files  on your pc.

      You can try using the VLC Player if you don't want the Klite Pack.

      Either way, both should work.  :)
