Number of times a program is loaded.
« on: October 21, 2009, 07:19:19 AM »
I would like clarification or explanation on this issue.  I have a disc that allows me to use a license three times.  I have used it twice and am preparing to install the software on a third computer.  My boss said that I should know that we would be getting rid of one of the computers soon and should save that third load.  I informed her that while I would notify the vendor of the action, the disc itself has no way of noting the number of loads.  She disagrees.  Outside of verification over a network using the number of times a key was used, is there any way for a program to know how many times it has been loaded?

Thank you.
