    No boot startup
    « on: October 28, 2009, 11:54:47 AM »
Daughters comp went blue screen of death and would not restart as she explained. Sounded like MB went to the wayside so I bought an Azrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0 and replaced her P4 with my Pentium D 945 Duo Core which was fine and 9 months old. So here's the problem. I try to start only to (at first) get one beep (AMI BOIS)and it shuts down. So I started disconnecting to eliminate. Got down to nothing left but the power, (no drives,Video, Keyboard, mouse or usb)and got several beeps space 1 beep and shut down. Now with all disconnected I get no beeps and shut down after 5-10 seconds. The memory is still in on the DDR 333MHz channel side as this board supports Dual Ch.DDR2  667/533 2G max & DDR 400/333/266 2G max. I'm running 333MHz after changing out DDR2 533 thinking it was the problem. Pretty sure the 533 is dual channel as the MB states it should be Dual Channel. If it isn't would this cause the problem?! Or could it be a bad HDD.

    Thanks for listening!

Bad HDD will not normally produce shutdowns...

All MBoard standoffs in place ? ?

Thermal paste applied correctly ? ?
    Thermal Paste Guide.

New or used PSU ? ?
