Well, it's likely you need the sata driver for XP to see the HD

      well how do i install the driver if i cant access the hd and cant get into windows?

      Unless you create a slipstream XP CD, you don't install them. Follow the instructions in the link Computer_Command posted above. And if you happen to have a floppy drive it's easy. Then again, so is creating a slipstream cd with nlite (http://www.nliteos.com/)

        floppy? as in that old crap before cds?  i dont have one of those anymore.

        anyways i dont know how to use nlite and cant download anything since im on my moms laptop.

        The hard drive may need to be enabled in BIOS. On my Dell, there is a check next to the drives that are enabled.

          Maybe, just maybe you should think about taking into a computer shop and letting them fix it for you.  You are looking for a real simple fix, and although it might be relatively simple for some people it isn't for you.  They probably won't charge you anything extra for the attitude either.

            ok sorry about my attitude its just i get a little upset when Im not on my own computer.  Anyways I finally got a program to run to look for errors on my hd and so far its found 1,000's upon 1,000's of errors hopefully ill be able to fix them.

              i tried that program but it didnt detect the HD, anyways its not that program that im running its something.

                ok it seems like no matter what i do i always get a error that says this (or something similar)

                There is no disk or the disk cant be accessed.

                  So exactly what program are you runing that has found all these thousands of problems on your hard drive?  Why do I get the feeling this is a game?
