    Audio Problems
    « on: November 26, 2009, 02:18:56 AM »
For some time now, not sure when it started, I have had audio problems when I communicate in Window Messenger or Skype. At first the audio is clear and then after a few minutes, the audio quality becomes bad and an echo begins until I can no longer undertand the conversation. I removed all external speakers and tried using only a headset with integrated mic. No help.

My question is could it be a driver issue or is the sound card going bad?

Music plays ok with I-tunes. It is only Messenger and Skype which do not work properly.

I have Windows XP and my computer is about 8-years old.

Just fixed the problem. The Realtek AC'97 sound card driver was 7-years old. Updated it to the latest version and now Skype is working fine. No echo or sound quality problems.
