will windows 98 work on my gateway ma2

will windows 98 work on my gateway that came out with XP.  The origional recovery disk that came with the computer is not woking properly.  What shoudl I do?   I know there are two questions here, but I am hoping someone can help

Windows 98 will probably work, but can you post the specs of the PC to be sure?

Only if Windows 98 drivers are available for your Gateway.
