    Delete Duplicate Folder
    « on: December 17, 2009, 10:02:33 AM »
I have a folder (xxxx) in "My Computer" that is listed under "Files Stored on this Computer."  This is the same folder as "My Documents" located at C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents.  I would like to delete folder xxxx from the My Computer list.  There is no option to delete; and if I delete it's contents, it also deletes from "My Documents" at C:\ ... as above.  How can I delete folder xxxx and keep the "My Documents" folder?

I don't want to delete these files and folders from My Documents.  I just want to get rid of the duplicate folder under "My Computer."  Forgive me billrich, but your advice could really mess someone up who doesn't know better.

xxxx folder under My Computer (along side C:, D:, Shared Folders, etc.) is linked to the My Documents folder at C:\Doc & Set\Admin\ ... .  Whatever is done within the My Documents folder is done to xxxx folder.

Are you calling it 'xxxx' for some special reason?

Windows XP Pro.  The file is called "Scott's Docs."  And, if I double-click "My Computer," it's under "Files Stored on This Computer."

That was a bit abrupt. Never mind. It always make me wonder when people get coy about the names of files or folders they wish to execute/alter/remove. It seems I was right.
