Laptop Internet Problems

I'm not sure if here it's the right place to post this. Well anyway I can't go to certain sites with my laptop. I can go to those sites in my desktop. Using his laptop my brother can't go to those sites either. It's really weird, I'm not using wireless so it can't be about different connections (all desktops can go to these sites). I tried with two os: linux mint and vista and the same thing happens. I doubt it's virus. I can't go to wordpress.com, about.com and some other sites. Any idea why is this happening?

Nothing shows up :/ The weird thing is that only happens in laptops. I've tried with others also and it can't go to those sites either.

I tried accessing the sites with other laptops and it doesn't work but when I go to the desktop it works (using the same internet connection)
