There's also responsibility on your part (if you aren't trying to be an *censored*) to not write like an *censored*.

Somebody has been writing like an *censored*, I agree with you about that. Not about their identity, I suspect. It is really bad when somebody posts like a jerkwad.

Fighting? I was agreeing with Socrates about "some posters" I thought.

Yes. I thought so. Maybe English is not your first language, and that is why you do not understand that "To my knowledge..." or "To my certain knowledge..." means "This is absolutely true; don't bother disagreeing because I know I am right because I have personal knowledge". It comes across as arrogant and what follows had better be true!

For example "To my certain knowledge Buckingham Palace is in London" (I have seen it) or "To my knowledge at sea level water boils at 100 degrees C" (I have done the experiment). You used the phrase to introduce a statement which was actually false, inviting ridicule. Which you got.

Guys! Socrates, please don't go! You've been a huge help here and Computerhope needs you. This isn't grade 10 English class, so I don't know why you are arguing about the meanings of certain words. This is a computer help forum, WHO CARES if someone posts something that you don't agree with! Take it up in a pm, or use the report abuse link! If you must argue with posts, do it in the off topic section.

Let's all try to play nice here, fellas.  There's no need to argue over semantics.  After all, this is a computer help forum, not a pissing contest.  If it is so important for you two to carry on like this, you can save it for PM's.  If this continues, you can consider the thread locked.

I completely agree.
