How do I entert BIOS (compaq computer)

I have a compaq computer presario 4100CA
 I would like to know how to enter BIOS

Running windows me.

Try hitting F10 during startup.  Actually, you should see the key for accessing the BIOS stated on your screen very soon after hitting the power ON button.  But, that screen usually passes quickly and is easy to overlook.   

I can't be absolutely sure F10 is the right key for your computer since this can vary by make and model.  I have a Compaq d530 CMT for which F10 is the key, and F10 is shown in this reference: http://michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm. 

If F10 does not work, it's probably F1, F2, or Del.

Use the following instructions to open the BIOS:

        Immediately press the F10 repeatedly on the keyboard when the logo screen displays.

4100CA is pre 2001.

So, why do the makers of the quoted model say F10? And why have you reopened a thread that is nearly 2 months old?
