Problems viewing webpages and watching videos online
    « on: January 24, 2010, 10:51:21 AM »
Hi, I have recently started to have problems watching video online. I am using IE version 8. Scripting of Java applets are enabled in my internet security settings and I have also installed the latest version of the Adobe Flash player. I can watch youtube videos fine when I use the search function on the site, but when I go to a youtube user's profile and click on a video, I get an error message that says "Bad response from server".

I am unable to watch videos on the BBC Sport website:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/front_page/7727391.stm

Also, the MSN homepage isn't showing up properly for me.  The “Video highlights from the past week” section just appears as a blank box, as does the section under “Advertising” and “ad space”.  I have attached a screenshot of my current view of the page.

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

I would suggest reinstalling the Flash Player.

I would also try other browsers such as Firefox, see if you can watch videos there.

Hi, I tried reinstalling the flash player, but still no joy.  Videos do not work in Firefox either.

Try this to uninstall Flash: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
        Install fresh copy.

            Download Autoruns for Windows: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
            No installation required.
Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.
Go File>Save, and save it as AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
You must select Text from drop-down menu as a file type:

Attach the file to your next reply.

You surely have a lot of startups. I'm not sure, IF it's going to solve your issue, but we definitely have to cur them down.

              Also...
              Please, post some computer info:

              - hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")

Re-run Autoruns, click on "Logon" tab and UN-check following items:
