application not found message/24562
« on: January 25, 2010, 11:05:06 AM »
Hope this is the right place to ask this.  I have Vista, IE7 (I think), laptop dell.  Yesterday I downloaded Google Chrome (no reason why) and it seemed way to much at the moment so I went to control panel and deleted the program.

Problem:  I use Windows Mail...every time I go to open a link I get a red x and a message that says "application not found/message 24562

What did I do wrong in deleting Google Chrome...why would I get that message?  Thank you for your kindness,  Suzanne

Open Control Panel and double-click Internet Options.
Click the Programs tab.
Click to select the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser check box.
Click OK.
Start Internet Explorer and when you are prompted to make it the default browser, click Yes.

On answer to your question at the end...google chrome probably set itself as the default browser.
Allan's fix above will take care of that.
