Soundsa as if your network is not set up properly...you shouldn't have to do this manually...
What flavor of Windows isn  this ? ?

Oh I went into my Device Manager and then clicked into network adapters and my " Microsft Tun Miniport Adapter #2" has an exclamation mark on it, then when I click Properties when I try and check for solutions nothing happens and the exclamation mark is still there.

                  Device status

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

If you have viruses you should be posting in the malware section.

Also, you are not supposed to be installing service packs while infected.

He doesn't neccessarily have an infection...right now he has Driver issues...

Imran you need to track down the proper drivers for that network device...re-install them...re-boot and see if it detects the Network.
