ACE may refer to any of the following:
1. With VMware, ACE is short for VMware ACE (assured computing environment).
2. Short for access control entry, ACE is a single item within an ACL with information about the user or group and the associated permissions. In many cases, a single ACL (access control list) can contain multiple ACEs.
